Description

If you are interested in a 2-bike hitch rack for your car that doesn’t break the bank, look no further than the Beta hanging-style bike rack from Kuat. Made from lightweight aluminum and weighing just 14 pounds, this hitch rack folds up quickly and stores almost anywhere. The Beta is always ready to rock, right out of the box. 

The Beta features anti-sway carriages and has a convenient tilt feature that allows the rack to tilt down for easy access to the back of the vehicle. Plus, our hand-tight cam system keeps the rack tight in the hitch while the gated hitch pin keeps the rack secure. The Beta hitch rack is coated in a premium powder coat finish and is available in both the 2” and 1.25” hitch sizes.

1 Must be a chassis mounted hitch receiver. Must be less than 64” distance from the center of the rear axle to the center of the hitch pin hole.

Always check the User Guide and specifications for any change in weight capacity dependent on use. Hitch extenders and adapters should not be used when mounting the rack to an RV. Please refer to Kuat’s RV & Off-road Limitations for more information.

Beta FAQ

Will the Beta work with my step-through frame?

The Beta will work with step-through bikes but not natively, and a top tube adapter will be needed. We have our U-bar top tube adapter for such scenarios.
Why do my straps look different than the ones you have shown in the photos?

There are a couple of different versions of the Beta. The older versions used rubber straps with holes to secure the bike, and the newer versions utilize ratcheting straps.
Is there a lock for the hitch pin on the Beta?

The Beta does not come with a locking hitch pin, but our Hitch Lock is available and compatible.
Is there a way to lock my bikes to the Beta?

The Beta does not come with a cable lock or any form of integrated cable lock. However, you can get a Locking Hitch Pin and a Double-Looped Cable to work together to secure your bikes to the rack.

Is the Beta suitable for Carbon bikes?

Yes, however, you should take some precautions due to potential pressure on the bike frame, such as adding protective padding or a top tube adapter to minimize risk. You could also consider any of Kuat’s platform racks like the Piston Pro X, NV 2.0, Sherpa 2.0, or Transfer v2 for safer transport.  These platform racks do not make any contact with the bike frame.
Is there a 3-bike version of the Beta?

The Beta does not have a 3-bike version.
