MATCHING KEYS ACROSS RACKS
You can replace the Lock Cores, or purchase new Hitch Locks or Cable Locks as needed.
Most Kuat products have replaceable Lock Cores. This is the most common way to match all of your Kuat Racks to the same key code. Every order of lock cores comes with 2 matching keys for your new pack of lock cores.
- Choose a key code (based on your desired code).
- Decide how many locks you need to replace. Count:
- Hitch pins
- Lock housings
- Cable Locks that have integrated cores
- Purchase lock cores (2, 4, or 6 pack) in that key code.
- Replace lock cores. Your original keys (or a replacement set) are required to swap lock cores. See How to Replace Lock Cores for video guides on how to swap the lock core for your rack.

Finding your Key Code
Every Kuat Rack will come with matching lock and keys. Any additional Kuat Racks will likely have another set of matching locks and keys. Each of our locks and keys are engraved with a 3 or 4 digit code—that's your key code. Check the top of your key, or the face of the lock for your code.
