When you roll with larger tires or wheels, we recommend using our Strap Extender Kit. This kit includes a front tire strap and a strap extender to help ensure your fat tire bike is safe and secure en route.

Description

The Strap Extender Kit provides more strap length to help with fitting fat tires or competition or aero-style wheels with deeper rims to your rack. We include one with the NV 2.0 and the NV Base 2.0 racks, but the straps operate with other Kuat bike racks to help accommodate those larger wheels, rims, and tire sizes.

WHICH RACKS WORK WITH THE STRAP EXTENDER KIT?
NV 2.0

A single Strap Extender Kit is included with any purchase of an NV 2.0 or NV 2.0 Add-On. This kit will include a Front and Rear Extender Strap.

Use the Strap Extender Kit when tires are larger (3.5” to 5” tires) and to help accommodate deeper rims including fat tires or aero-style wheels.

*The Front Tire Strap (included) is required when mounting a bike over 35 lbs.

NV Base 2.0

A single Strap Extender Kit is included with any purchase of an NV 2.0 or NV 2.0 Add-On. This kit will include a Front and Rear Extender Strap.

Use the Strap Extender Kit when tires are larger (3.5” to 5” tires) and to help accommodate deeper rims including fat tires or aero-style wheels.

*The Front Tire Strap (included) is required when mounting a bike over 35 lbs.

Sherpa 2.0

The Strap Extender Kit is NOT included with purchase of the Sherpa 2.0.

However, we recommend using the Strap Extender Kit to help accommodate larger or deeper rims and wheels.

*The Strap Extender Kit will not change the maximum tire size of 3” for the Sherpa 2.0.
*Use the included velcro-style strap specifically for bikes over 35 lbs.

TRIO

A Rear Tire Extension strap (a portion of the Strap Extender Kit) is included with purchase of the following Trio Fork Adapter(s) to help with larger tires:

  • 15mm x 142mm Adapter
  • 15mm x 150mm Adapter
  • 9mm x 135mm Adapter


The Strap Extender Kit can also work as a replacement for this Rear Tire Extension. The Front Extender Strap may be included, but is not required for use with the Trio.

Transfer v2

The Strap Extender Kit is NOT included with purchase of the Transfer v2 as the rack will fit 5” tires out of the box. Only the Front Extender Strap is included with Transfer V2 purchases and is required when mounting a bike over 35 lbs.

We only recommend The Strap Extender Kit to add more strap length if needed.

The NV (Discontinued)

The Strap Extender Kit is compatible with The (original) NV Bike Rack.

Use the Strap Extender when tires are larger tires (3.5” to 4” tires). Use both straps to help accommodate larger or wider tires and rims including deeper or aero-style wheels. We recommend using the Front Tire Strap when mounting a bike over 35 lbs.
