Discontinued Rack FAQs

Do you still have parts for the original racks?

We continue to provide as many parts as possible for the original racks. However, please note that while there is a lifetime warranty, some parts and keys may be limited due to the racks being discontinued.

My key code is 004/005, but I do not see those on the website. Where can I get those keys?

We periodically rotate and retire key codes. Unfortunately, those codes are now obsolete. However, we offer replacement locks and hitch pins that can be purchased to provide you with a more up-to-date, readily available version.

The NV FAQs

I have the original NV rack. Can I use the NV 2.0 add-on with that rack?

No, the NV 2.0 was completely redesigned, and the 2.0 Add-on is incompatible with the original NV due to differences in the mounting process.

Do you still have the add-on for the original NV available?

The original NV was discontinued in 2016, and we no longer have add-ons for sale. Occasionally, you may find one on the second-hand market.

What is the difference between the NV 2.0 and the NV?

The NV was the first rack in the NV family, originally released in 2008 and discontinued in 2016. The NV 2.0 is a complete redesign that combines user feedback with years of experience to create a reliable and more versatile product. While the NV 2.0 retains many of the same features, it includes several significant upgrades to better suit modern bikes, which have evolved since the original design.

The tire capacity on the NV 2.0 was increased to hold tires up to 5”, compared to the NV’s 4”. Additionally, the wheelbase was extended to 50”. The pivoting system on the NV 2.0 now features a foot-actuated lever for easier operation, replacing the hand-operated lever on the original NV. The NV 2.0 also includes an adjustable front tire cradle, allowing for quicker bike fit adjustments, and the Trail Doc was redesigned entirely for enhanced functionality.

Can I add the foot pedal to my original NV Rack?

Yes, you can! We offer an updated lower end that is now compatible with the original NV rack. It’s a great way to keep your rack fresh and enhance functionality.

Will the D101 adapter work with my original 1.25” NV?

No, the original 1.25" NV rack is incompatible with the D101 adapter. The most efficient solution is to replace the lower end of the rack, which will allow your 1.25" rack to fit a 2" receiver.

The Sherpa FAQs

Can the original Sherpa rack use the 3” extensions for the Sherpa 2.0?

No, the 3” extensions are incompatible with the original Sherpa rack.

What is the difference between the original Sherpa and the 2.0 model?

The Sherpa 2.0 completely redesigns the original Sherpa, with several key upgrades. It features a new pivot, shank, and larger trays that accommodate bikes with up to 3” tires and a wheelbase of up to 47”. The security cable is now 6 feet long, but instead of connecting to the hitch pin, it clicks into a lock receptacle on the outside bike tray.

Another major update is the front tire scoop, which folds flat for a low-profile design. Additionally, the Sherpa 2.0 is available in both 1.25” and 2” models, as opposed to the universal fit of the original Sherpa.

The Sherpa 2.0 combines user feedback and years of experience to create a more secure, reliable, and versatile product while retaining many of the features of the original Sherpa.

What is the max wheelbase and tire size for the original Sherpa?

The original Sherpa has a max wheelbase of 44.5” and supports a max tire size of 2.75”.

Can I get my original Sherpa rack to accommodate my fat bike?

Unfortunately, the original Sherpa is limited to a 2.75” tire size, and there is no way to increase this capacity.

Transfer FAQs

What is the difference between the original Transfer and the V2 model?

The original Transfer used a threaded hitch pin to attach the rack to the vehicle and featured a universal fit. The add-on was limited to one bike, and it was available in two colors.

The Transfer V2 was upgraded to a hitch cam system, replacing the threaded hitch pin for a more secure connection. It is now available in black, with options for 1.25" and 2" racks. The V2 models also support add-ons for the 2-bike and 3-bike configurations. Additionally, it comes with a cable lock for added security.

Can I still get locks for the original Transfer?

Yes, we still have the Transfer Lock Kit available.

Will the Transfer V2 add-on work with the original rack?

No, the add-ons are generation-specific. Unfortunately, the original add-on is no longer available.
